The concept of focus is tackled efficiently with some interesting insights. My take away from this book is a question framework I’m applying daily when there isn’t any priority for the day that arise. I try to frame it differently thanks to this book with: “What’s the one thing that will make all the others things easy”. I use that as a compass.
The book tackled a concept that has been seen before, also brilliantly covered in “Essentialism from Greg McKeown“. It resolve around focusing on the right things which is a central aspect of our thriving process.
There are a couple of others insights which are great to learn such as:
- The Perfect Life-Work balance is a fallacy. Life is dynamic and there is no such as thing as “lived happily ever after” upon a milestone completion. Dynamic will strive to chaos and your frame of values must be sharp to adjust it.
- There aren’t such thing as disciplined people, it is acquired & Cognitive Exhaustion reduces our ability to be disciplined.
